Who is laser hair removal for?
Bare Claremont laser hair removal is for everyone. It’s safe for all skin types, hair types, and hair colours. We’re all busy removing hair we don’t like – if you have hair where you wish you didn’t, Bare Claremont laser hair removal is for you. The body hair-reduction process can be permanent, predictable, and virtually pain-free.
Our clients seek hair removal treatments for almost any part of the body, from facial or bikini line treatments to leg, arm, neck, or back hair removal. Women mostly have their bikini, underarms, facial, legs, and arms treated while men usually have their backs, chests, shave lines, and back and front of neck area lasered.
What can I expect?
You can expect results from a series of relatively short sessions – the actual time depends mainly on the size of the area being treated. Each treatment is performed by a qualified laser technician and you will be able to return to normal activities immediately after a treatment.
Because of Bare Claremont laser hair removal’s unique technology, treatment sessions can be virtually pain-free. Other benefits include:
- Complete coverage, no missed areas
- Fast treatment time with very few side effects
- Return to normal activities immediately – no recovery period or “downtime”
How does it work?
The treatment works by using pulses of infrared diode laser energy to heat the hair follicles in the sub-dermal layer of the skin until they can no longer produce new hair. Using unique technology and the cooling treatment tip, the surface of your skin stays cool and comfortable. The sweeping motion also eliminates any skipped or missed areas common to other types of laser hair removal.
Any medical laser procedure can be a bit intimidating at first but our qualified laser technicians will give you all the information that you need at a complimentary consultation. In addition, our technicians will give you a complimentary test patch so that you know exactly what you are in for.
Is it pain-free?
With our new cooling system some treatments can actually be 100% pain free, which is a first in the world of genuine laser hair removal.
Is it safe?
Hair removal is one of the aesthetic medical industry’s most well-known and researched uses of lasers. The state of the art Triple Wave Diode laser has provided permanent hair reduction for thousands of individuals worldwide – safely and successfully since it was cleared by the FDA in 2005.
How many treatments will I need?
As with all medical treatments, laser hair removal treatments aren’t based on an exact science and there are no hard or fast rules or 100% guarantees. Laser hair removal results depend on several factors including hair colour, pigment, skin colour, and type, coarseness of the hair, hair growth cycle, hormones, and frequency of treatments, etc. Every individual will see a different result at different stages of treatment depending on their particular attributes. For example, an individual with coarse, dark, thick hair will see a better result than someone with fair, thin, light hair. In our experience, we have noticed that generally, our clients have needed an average of 8-12 treatments to permanently reduce the number of regrowth by more than 80%, six months after the last treatment. Depending on skin type up to 15 treatments or more may be necessary for a permanent result.
There are three stages in the hair growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. Laser hair removal can only target hair in the Anagen stage of growth; this is the “growing” stage in the cycle. Treatments performed on hairs not in the Anagen stage can be less effective as the hairs may not be fully pigmented yet, or may not be currently growing as they would in the Anagen stage. For this reason, treatments are spaced out and monitored to ensure maximum coverage in the right phases. Please always come to your treatments as booked so that we can ensure the best results at all times.
Will my hair ever grow back?
The short answer is no. Once the hair follicle is damaged it cannot grow new hair. However, there are invariably a few hair follicles that manage to partially escape the laser during each treatment. Some of these follicles may be only stunned and will need to be retreated.
Do I need to plan for time off for the treatments?
Absolutely not. Laser Hair Removal at Bare Claremont requires no “downtime” or recovery time. You can have a treatment and return to work or school immediately.
How do I know it won’t hurt?
Schedule a complimentary consultation for a test patch so you can experience it for yourself.
How do I prepare for my consult and test patch?
If you usually wax, pluck, thread, or mechanically remove hair from the root, you will need to stop at least two weeks before your consultation. This is because laser treatment works on pigmented hair. If you remove the hair from the root, you remove the pigment and you will not get ultimate results. Between treatments, we advise our clients to shave or trim. The advantage is that one doesn’t need to grow the hair as you do for waxing. If you have facial hair, we advise you to use a facial trimmer or facial scissors. These are widely available at most beauty stores and are relatively inexpensive.
Can I tan, use self-tan, sun activators or sunbeds?
No. Please do not tan, use self-tan or a sunbed at least two weeks before, or after your laser treatment.
Can I use essential oils or go for a massage before a treatment?
No. Please do not use any essential oils or have a massage 24 hours before your appointment.
Can I have laser treatment if I am pregnant?
Bare Claremont laser hair removal considers the safety of our clients to be of the highest importance. As such please be advised that we are no longer treating pregnant clients for any of the Bikini, Brazilian, or Hollywood zones (and of course, stomach lines) unless you have specific permission from your gynecologist or obstetrician. There is no issue with the laser and pregnancy with regards to safety, but as we do not know how your hormones are fluctuating and/or which medications or supplements you are taking during pregnancy, we require your own doctor’s assurance that the laser treatment may be carried out so that the best hair removal results can be achieved.
How much does it cost?
Bare Claremont laser hair removal costs much less than most people think. Compared with a lifetime of shaving, waxing, plucking, or depilatory creams, laser hair removal with Bare is a worthwhile investment in both time and money savings. Why are there two Bare websites and Facebook pages?
You might be wondering, how is it that there are two Bare websites and Facebook pages?
Well, in business many partnerships come to an end, and recently the co-owners of Bare went their separate ways. Due to erroneous behaviour exhibited by the owner of Bare Paddocks & Bare Greenpoint, we as Bare Claremont, the leader of the group, do not wish to be associated with any other Bare branches.
We have worked long and hard to build a brand that represents ethics and quality, and we remain the salon of choice for our wonderful clients and their families. Sadly, the other Bare salons have been maliciously mismanaged, causing high staff turnover and a drop in service standards. In addition, a new rogue branch has been opened in our immediate vicinity in an attempt to steal our client base and pass themselves off as a genuine Bare branch – We hope that no one has lost money or suffered ill-treatment due to this.
Thus our new website has been launched to direct new and existing clients to the original Bare – A salon dedicated to the well-being of clients and staff alike, subscribing to a genuine and ethical mindset to make sure your journey with us is the real deal. We have been serving clients since January 2013 and will do so with love, care and dedication into the future. There is only one original Bare Laser – Please don’t be taken for a ride by imposters.
